This song is entirely in English! I mean, you can barely tell, since her accent is so strong. But it's English.

I didn't know this one at all. But when this song came on, my wife's face absolutely lit up, and she danced along and sang every word. For making that moment happen, you get an upvote.

When I was 19, I dated a woman from Spain for a summer. (I used to speak decent Spanish.) Anyway, one night, I went to a Spanish-language nightclub with her and her friends. The Macarena came on, and they all were like "NOOO okay, FINE" and then the entire club did the dance. I'd never heard the song before in my life, and was flummoxed.

It had evidently peaked and faded already in Spain and Mexico. It hit the U.S. charts a year later. Anyway, that's what the Macarena MEANS TO ME.
